The GW232 can be used in two modes: Data Only Mode; requires just two twisted pairs in the link cable or Data and Handshake Mode; requires four twisted pairs.
Connection of the link cable is simple and a wiring guide is printed on the unit.
All RS422 signals are internally terminated, and any unused lines may be left unconnected. The GW232, DTE/DCE switch allows the GW232 to be configured to match most asynchronous RS232 equipment, including terminals, PCs, printers, plotters etc., without having to make special cross-over wiring configurations in your RS232 cables. All units are supplied complete with a small external power supply unit.
